Mona Toncheff, MEd, a mathematics education consultant and author, was the Mathematics Specialist for Phoenix Union High School District in Arizona for 12 years. She oversaw the development and implementation of mathematics curriculum, instruction, and assessment. She is currently the Project Director for AZ Mathematics Partnership, an NSF funded grant for developing middle school mathematics content knowledge.  She is the current 1st Vice President of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics and has served as secretary (2007–2008), Western Region 1 RD (2012-2015), and 2nd Vice President (2015-2016). Mrs. Toncheff began her career as a secondary mathematics teacher.

In 2009, Mona was selected as the Phoenix Union High School District Teacher of the Year where she also received the Copper Apple Award for leadership in mathematics from the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics in 2014. She earned a bachelor of science from Arizona State University and a master of education in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.
